Al Terry asked:

What happens when a brain surgeon gets entangled in a brainy mess? “Young Frankenstein” revolves around the story of a well-known brain surgeon and professor from New York, Frederick Frankenstein, who inherits a castle as well as a laboratory from his grandfather in Transylvania. His grandfather, Victor Von Frankenstein, was nuts and now, Frederick has to decide either to continue his grandfather’s crazy experiments of reanimating the dead or escape from his family’s troubled past. What does he do in the end? There is also a gorgeous lab assistant named Inga, who has a soft corner for Frederick. Does the brain surgeon fall in love with Inga?

“Young Frankenstein” offers a good dose of thrills and chills to the audience. The sinister castle and the murky links of Transylvania Heights, make you clutch the sides of your seat tighter. The show has some rasping numbers such as “He Vas My Boyfriend”, “The Transylvania Mania,” and the memorable “Putting on the Ritz.”

“Young Frankenstein” is based on a hit movie of 1974. The show will open on November 8, 2007 at Broadway’s Hilton Theatre. Its previews will start from October 11. The creative team of the super hit “The Producers”, which has won a Tony Award, gets a chance to re-unite in this show, along with Susan Stroman, who has given her fine direction and choreography. Mel Brooks has shown his musical talent through the splendid lyrics and melody. The book is co-written by Thomas Meehan and Mel Brooks.

Roger Bart plays the role of brainy Dr. Frederick Frankenstein. Bart is famous for his stunning performance in “You’re A Good Man”. He plays Snoopy in it, which bagged him a Tony Award. He is also known for creating the role of Carmen Ghia in the smashing hit “The Producers”.

Sutton Foster plays the **** Inga. Foster is the favorite star of Broadway. She is renowned for her role as Millie Dillmount in the show “Thoroughly Modern Millie”. She has won a Tony Award for this role. Her latest performance was in “The Drowsy Chaperone” as Janet.

Shuler Hensley is the Monster. Hensley is well-known for the character of Judd Fry in “Oklahoma!” that bagged a Tony Award. Hensley’s latest role was in Disney’s “Tarzan” as Kerchak.

Megan Mullally plays Elizabeth. She is famous for her award-winning performance in “Will & Grace” as Karen Walker. Besides these actors, there is Christopher Fitzgerald, playing the role of Igor and Fred Applegate as Kemp.

With such talented actors, it’s no wonder that each character comes to life in the show. The tickets have already started to sell like hot cakes. The theme of the story has attracted the audience like crazy. Theatre fans want to know what happens to the crazy experiments of Frederick’s grandfather and his equally spooky castle. And don’t forget the charming young Inga, who lends a helping hand in the weird experiments taking place in the brain surgeon’s laboratory.

So, if you want to be a part of this excitement, book your tickets via phone or internet now. The more you delay, the tougher it will get to obtain tickets.
